Homework is an important part of your child’s learning experience. The goal of homework is to supplement, enrich, and reinforce skills. Your child will benefit greatly from your support and encouragement of good work habits at home.
Weekly, your child will be given a homework sheet that will outline each night’s assignment. Daily, your child will write nightly assignments in individual Agenda Books. Nightly, you are asked to sign your child’s Agenda Book, indicating your notification. Unless otherwise noted, homework is expected to be completed and returned the following day it is given.
Students who complete 100% of their homework each marking period, will be invited to join the very prestigious - Homework Club!
A special reward/celebration will be planned for those kids who work hard all quarter long and turn in ALL of their homework.
Parents, I understand that families are very busy! Some evenings you might just run out of time, and that’s ok. Or some mornings, you might leave the homework sitting on the kitchen counter. I understand! : ) Please feel free to write me a note in your child's Agenda Book if you ever have a problem or situation with homework.
Also, please let me know if your child feels overwhelmed by their nightly homework. It should be a brief review that they can complete quickly and with little assistance. We will work together to come up with a solution if any problems should arise!
Thank you for your support as we work together to help your child succeed in 2nd grade!
